Remembering friends’ and family’s birthdays is sometimes a lot harder than it should be, even if you’ve been smart enough to enter the dates in your calendar. Do you have all your friends listed? Have you set up reminders for each one? Is there one you always forget regardless of reminders?
One of the most useful iPad applications, Birthday Calendar takes care of all of that. It automatically imports all your friends’ birthdays from Facebook and reminds you of when birthdays are due. So if you’re uneasy about being friends with your parents on Facebook, at least it means you won’t forget their birthdays. It can also import birthdays from your address book, send texts and happy birthday messages on Facebook, as well as remind you of public holidays.
This app works better than your usual organiser or mobile phone reminders because it automates the process of sending out congratulations. Of course you still want to make an effort with close friends or family, but for the many acquaintances, business partners and online friends out there, you can set the app and forget about it. Very useful and a great time saver.

A Facebook account
Step-by-Step Guide
Log into Facebook
Tap on ‘Facebook Connect’ on the start screen and enter your email address arid password to log into Facebook.
Your Friends
You’ll now have a list of your friends that you can sort by date or alphabetically. Tap on one to take an action.
Take Action
You can now choose to send your friend a Facebook gift, write on their wall, or text, email or call them.
Keeping track
When you’ve performed an action for an event, Birthday Calendar will remember it so you don’t lose track.
Add a New Contact
If your friend isn’t on Facebook, tap ‘Add New’ to import them from your address book or enter their details.
Holiday Time
Birthday Calendar can remind you of holidays all around the world and comes with a complete list of UK holidays, too.
